A Serene Photo Painting

I made this little photo painting for a friend of mine who loves the beach.  This is a photo that I took on the beach at sunset in San Diego in 2014.  I was walking along the sidewalk above the sand after eating a pretty delicious lamb-burger.  Yum!  Anyway.  I have made these before but here's a quick overview of my process:

First I modpodge the picture to the canvas and let it dry.  Then I modpodge over the picture and let it dry.  Then I mix colors from my acrylic stash to match my photo (don't mind my painter's pallette...I don't think I've washed it in at least fifteen years).  Then I paint the main color and usually add a highlight color that is lighter, in this case yellow.  After the paint dries, I modpodge the entire canvas, let dry, and it's done.  I haven't presented this gift yet but I sue hope she'll enjoy it.
