White Chocolate Milk Chocolate Creme Cookies

Well, I have been meaning to catch up on my blog with all of the great things I have been doing in the past month or so, but I haven't been doing much.  Lucky for me since that means I don't have to catch up on much.  For those of you who don't know, I have been taking an American Sign Language class and that has been eating up most of my free time.  Therefore, there's not so much time for crafts and housewifey things.  I have even found that cleaning, the basic task of all housewives, has gone by the wayside (we all know it's the first thing to go anyway).  Interestingly, I have found, with my busy schedule, that I do less sewing and quilting and more baking and reading.  You may have noticed this from my recent posts.

Last week I needed to make some cookies; that's right, "needed."  We were having a potluck and I signed up for dessert, so I had to make something!  It is against all proper societal norms for a stereotypical Mormon housewife to buy cookies for a potluck.  I decided on these white chocolate creme cookies.  The recipe seemed simple enough, but when I put the first batch in I knew that something was wrong.  It wasn't a total disaster like the great cookie debacle of 2012, but I did have to go through a couple of batches to get the right cookie.

The lower right cookie is the first batch.  Then I added about 1/3 cup flour to get the top right cookie.  They were still too flat for me, so I added another 1/3 cup flour to get the smaller cookies on the left.

After I figured out the recipe, I took the time to make small cookies (about 1 inch finished) to make sandwich bite size.  The filling is made of milk chocolate with milk chocolate chunks too. I liked the filling but I wasn't too impressed by the cookies.  However, the consumers don't lie...one wanted to know if I knew how evil I was.  Well, I just make a good cookie, I guess.

  1. Bless your heart, you have the soul of an instinctive cook. And you aren't afraid to modify the recipe to work for you. Well done! :-}
