Baked Tortillas

A few months ago, I made a bean tortilla casserole thing and, just by mistake, discovered the delights of baked tortillas.  I vowed to bake some tortillas to see if they were good without the rest of the casserole.  I even found a recipe in a magazine that I was randomly reading at work.

It was very hard work.  You have to cut the tortillas, then smother them in oil (I used like one tsp or something) and use some salt, then bake.  Unfortunately for my first try, I burned them.  But they still were edible so I tried them and liked them.  They are a good substitute for chips if you don't want to eat potatoes.  They are also good if you are craving chips and salsa but don't want to buy an entire bag of Tostitos.  Next time I am going to try making cinnamon sugar baked tortillas.  Additionally, I will also watch them better so they are perfectly done instead of overdone.

Before baking.

You can probably tell the chips that are more well done than others.
