So I bought this panel a few years ago in a quilt shop that I can't remember. I bought it thinking that if I ever did have children then I would want this to be their record of growth. We can't really use a door jamb or anything permanent in a home since we move around so much. So I thought this would be perfect. When I finally got pregnant I pulled it out but I couldn't really do any sewing while pregnant. But it was the perfect project for afterward! So here it is. It starts at 18 inches so I can add their birth heights at the bottom too. I plan to just write it on with a sharpie. I had planned to use different color sharpies for my different children but, sadly, I don't think that will work since the ruler is on the darkest part of the quilt. So I'll just use initials or something. Of course it only goes to five feet anyway so who knows what I'll do when my kids go over that height (which they will). Anyway. I think it's cute and I can't wait to add their heights to this height chart.
This is adorable! What a perfect way to measure growth.
