Christmas in July

Heya.  Yes, I still do some crafts!  I was thinking about a package I needed to send this month as part of a secret sister program I participate in.  I couldn't really think of a good idea until I remembered that it was July and that Christmas was my secret sister's favorite holiday.  Christmas in July!  So I got to work compiling all the stuff I have made over the years-ornaments and such-to see what I could already put in the package.  I found a few ornaments and homemade things but it wasn't enough.  So I decided to make a Christmas decorative pillow.  I had a pillow form lying around that I didn't need so I got to work.  I found the perfect fabrics and started cutting.  Here is the end product.

I did mess up the front because I thought it was a 10 inch pillow but it turns out it was a 12 inch pillow.  So I had to add the red border around it (luckily I had enough fabric).  It didn't turn out exactly as I wanted it but for taking an hour on a Wednesday evening I thought it was a pretty good effort.  Merry Christmas in July!

  1. That is happy. Christmas in July. :)
Tonight my daughter asked that we eat the super special treat (because they were just rock stars at church today with their behavior) with the Christmas lights on. I plugged in a string, and we ate brownies with twinkling white lights nearby.
