A Little Easter Wallhanging

I wanted to make my mom something for her birthday so I decided to make an Easter wallhanging.  I got out my Easter fabric which is a very slim stash.  I ended up going to Joann's to find the perfect delicate fabric I was looking for and it worked!  Joann's is always an unknown and I can't believe I found something that fit perfectly.  I also went to Hobby Lobby for some accent fabrics.  It was fun to have a project again.

Here is my mom's quilt.  I was already planning on making one for myself after hers since I have no Easter quilts.  As I sewed I was having difficulty following the pattern correctly and I made two of the blocks wrong and had to pick apart the third one to correct the same mistake I had made in the other two blocks.  It was frustrating since my time was limited.  Well I decided to use the "not correct" blocks in my own quilt so once I finished my mom's quilt I was halfway done with my own too!  I wish I had laid this quilt out differently but it's still cute.
Here is my quilt.  The yellow and turquoise are wrong.  If you look closely you can see that there is no white snowball around the Ohio star in the center.  I look at it and notice it but it's not a big enough mistake to make it atrocious or anything.  I already have it hung and am enjoying it.  Often when I look at it I only see the pretty Easter colors and not the pretty Easter prints (bunnies, eggs, baskets) but oh well.  On to the next project: a little Easter dress.
