Horseback Riding

A while ago I was looking at interesting things to do in Sedona and the websites all mentioned horseback riding.  So I looked into a couple of ranches in the area and found one that participated in a program called Horse for Heroes.  Well, I had to check that out.  Apparently, it is a non-profit that ranches participate in to give free rides to active duty military and their families.  Well I jumped right on that.

The ranch was M Diamond Ranch and it was way out of town; we drove the last 4 miles on a dirt road with cows grazing on the shoulder.  They gave us a one hour ride for free.  I rode Wilma and my husband rode Duncan.  Our guide was Andy.  We were the only ones on the ride which was unexpected.  Lucky for us, the weather became cloudy so instead of riding at 100 degrees it was more like 92 with clouds and that was pretty nice.  Here are some pictures from our adventure.

These are just scenery pictures.  I was pretty impressed with my camera since I was on a moving horse for all of these pictures.  Not even a little blurry!  We did see a hawk on a tree branch about 50 feet away and that was cool.  No picture of it though.

Aren't we cute on our horses?
