This is the Japanese Garden at the Botanic Garden. It is my favorite place there and has a giant pond filled with Koi. There is also a nice tumbling waterfall. It is very picturesque.
Purple is my favorite color so how could I resist these purple tulips?
These are also purple too if you couldn't tell. I hadn't seen these before and liked them a lot.
About two weeks later on a fatefully boring Saturday I decided I had to go exploring. I am a little limited in my current condition and didn't feel like walking around a lot so I decided to drive up the back of the Sandia mountains to drive up to the crest. You can take a tram up there but I don't know why anyone would ever put themselves through that misery. It took me forty minutes to drive up there and it was fantastic. The scenery was lovely and the weather was perfect. I only stayed at the top long enough to snap a few pictures and go to the bathroom. I am already having trouble breathing while laying on my couch so at an elevation of over 10,000 feet I couldn't breathe very well.
Here is a picture of part of the Albuquerque valley.
Here are some fabulous clouds. A storm was coming through as I drove up and back.
So even though it is slow going and few and far between, I am getting to know my new hometown.
Glad to see you went up the back of the Sandias! The tram is actually a lot of fun, but you should wait to do that until you're not pregnant :).
