Tacoma, WA
Mostly we visited Browns Point which has a lighthouse and grounds for the lighthouse. I thought it was pretty so I took some pictures. Maybe because I never get to see big bodies of water at home. If you want to read more about what I was doing in Tacoma and at Browns Point, click here.
Forks, WA
I am a librarian as well as a wife, so it only makes sense that I would want to visit the small town of Forks and if you don't know why that's significant, I don't know what to tell you.
Cape Flattery or the northwestern most tip of the contigous United States, WA
There was a short hike to get out to assorted platforms to see this spot. There was one platform on the tip of Cape Flattery which is the northwesternmost point you can travel in the contiguous United States. Very cool. And a very winding road to get there. We also saw the tail of a whale way off in the distance.
Portland, OR
The best thing about Portland was the Japanese Gardens, but I also got to visit the International Rose Test Garden and Multnomah Falls which were pretty. I also went to the zoo. Fun stuff. Here are the rose gardens:

Here is Bridal Veil Falls on a creek in the Fraser river valley near Chilliwack. It was very beautiful except for all of those lovely mosquitoes! As you can see, it's been a rough summer what with all this traveling and sightseeing. It has been awesome and has distracted me from feeling miserable this summer.
I'm jealous. All those places look very beautiful. And cooler.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I have never visited any of these places before, as they are all so beautiful! I have to admit seeing these makes me miss WA just a little bit. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos from your trip! I of course LOVE the zebra=)
