Chocolate Molasses Drops

For my birthday this year, I got a new cookbook, or should I say dessertbook.  It was created by one of the "dudes" at 3 Dudes Quilting, one of my favorite quilt shops in the Phoenix area.  Owned by 3 dudes, they have a kitchen in the back and have fresh cookies for their customers (and their husbands and/or other tag-a-longs).  There is a nice couch in the back for your husband to relax in while you shop, not to mention devouring cookies of course.

So the Chocolate Molasses Drops recipe is the first recipe I've made out of this book.  It went very well.  Unfortunately, I didn't get to taste them, but my taste tester said they were "okay" (that's all I ever get out of my ever-steady taste tester) so I took them off to work so they could by my guinea pigs.  My co-workers really enjoyed them.  I was worried they would think they were boring or didn't have any flavor.  Thankfully, I was wrong.

There's not too many pictures of these babies.  Oh well.  I added some decorative sugar to the top and people really enjoyed that.

Finished.  They sure brought the smell of "Fall" to my home.
