Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Many housewives know the value of fabulous traditions.  Well, this housewive's MLK day tradition started about 4 years ago with a few friends.  Good thing her husband has seen fit to adopt it as well.  It goes like this:  MLK day is all about the milk and cookies.  Now you may say to yourself, 'Self, that seems very blasphemous to celebrate the Civil Rights movement and Martin Luther King's sacrifice in this way.'  However, to make it all very celebratory, we also get out my trusty CD of Martin Luther King's speeches and listen to I Have a Dream while we eat our cookies and drink our milk.  How many of you listened to Martin Luther King, Jr. today?  The cookies of the day were brownie cookies: plain for my husband and filled with walnuts for me.
