Don't you think it is important for us housewives to stick together? I do, and here is the result:
Isn't it cute? I totally want one! Since you have no reference to scale, I will tell you it is a size three and that is most definitely NOT my size. But I could totally see it in my own size. Sigh. Well, moving on. My sister-in-law emailed me at the end of last year because she wanted to make her daughter some skirts. I looked at pattern books for a super-easy pattern but found nothing so I told her I would make up a pattern for her. However, I didn't really want to have to make a pattern because I don't exactly enjoy doing that, and I was in the middle of a move and blah, blah, blah. Fast forward some months...I found the perfect Simplicity pattern for a little girl's skirt. I grabbed it up during a sale and paid a big 80 cents for the pattern. Then I scrounged in my sewing stash for the perfect fabric for the three-year old in question. So there it is. It took about half an hour to complete. Little girl clothes take a lot less time, I'll tell ya! Now I am just ruing the day that I didn't get an 80 cent pattern for myself to keep so I could make more little skirts for my other niece.
What a cute skirt! I can't believe how difficult it is to find a modest skirt these days.
ReplyDeleteum, yeah?!? tori just asked me (while she was sleeping) if auntie kathleen was going to make her a princess/fairy skirt. she is also a size 3 or so. :)
ReplyDeleteIs a princess/fairy skirt the same skirt in the picture? I love how kids talk in their sleep.
