Cooking

Every good housewife knows how to cut down her time in the kitchen.  It is essential to the great art of spending less time in the kitchen while actually preparing more food.  So, in the spirit of keeping it simple, here is how I prepare asparagus.  Now it doesn't apply to those people who don't like microwaves, but then, if you don't like microwaves, are you truly a stereotypical housewife?

All you have to do is break the stems of the asparagus, throw some salt, pepper, and lemon juice in with it, fill about 1/3 full of water (if you look real close you can see my water line), cover with saran wrap, poke some holes in it and put it in the microwave.  This batch took about 7 minutes total.  Watch out for the steam when you pull back the saran wrap-it could burn you!
