Holiday Decorations

I have started a new on-going project (every housewife has these, right?).  It all began in Joann's while I was looking at Christmas fabric in 2010.  Well, as I am wont to do, I bought some fabric.  Shocking, I know.  I bought it with the intent to make a pillowcase for a certain pillow form I already had.  In December 2011, I finally got around to making the pillowcase.

Isn't it cute?  I liked it so much that I decided to make a pillowcase for each month of the year.  The project is ongoing because most seasonal fabrics are only available during the season, and I already missed out on January...maybe next year.  Of course, there are snowmen on the Christmas pillowcase, but there are also presents and it is chiefly red and green; decidedly a Christmas fabric, so not suitable for the wintry January that is Tucson.

About three weeks ago, I bought a fabulous Valentine's day fabric.  Well, I was in the thralls of moving for most of the month and could only think longingly of my Valentine's decoration.  Besides, how can you decorate your house for a holiday if your house is still in shambles?  Earlier this week, I threw caution and cleaning to the wind and sat down and made me my pillowcase!

It looks great on the couch and all I can say is, "Yay for holiday decorations!"

  1. Love the fabric-where did you get it? Cleaning can always wait, but holidays wait for no housewife! :-}

  2. Joann's is my downfall. I love the valentines fabric you chose.
