Popcorn

In an effort to stop eating crackers, which generally have a long list of ingredients, I decided to google some healthy snacks and see if there was anything I could manage effectively and enjoy as well.  Popcorn was on the top of many lists, especially air popped popcorn.  Apparently it doesn't have a lot of calories and it has plenty of fiber.  Well, air popping is the only way I do it, so that was pretty easy.

I also looked up different seasonings I could make for my popcorn.  I popped two batches and made one in the traditional way, just adding a little salt.  The other batch I made into cinnamon sugar, just tossing about two teaspoons over the batch.  Each made 6 cups, or three servings for me.  I want to see how long it lasts before it gets stale because I don't want to make popcorn everyday.  Popcorn is also way more cost effective than buying crackers.  It isn't, however, very good with hummus so I'll have to find a different substitute for that-probably cucumbers or carrots.

*Note: My popcorn was multicolored so that's why my popped corn is different colors.

  1. Good luck. I applaud two things - 1st, an new post, and 2nd, finding a sub for crackers (too addicting for me.) I have a recipe for gluten free crackers to be used with hummus, but I've never made them. Let me know if you want it. :-}
