Baby Shower

Recently I went to New Mexico to enjoy visiting with a friend that I haven't seen in about 2 years.  She was having a baby shower and I thought it was a great excuse to get out of Tucson and enjoy somewhere else.  Since she was having a baby shower, I wanted to make her something (big surprise).  There are three main quilt stores in midtown in Tucson and there is one that always has cute baby fabric.  Unfortunately their baby fabric wasn't as cute as I had hoped.  I settled on a frog print that was super cute but I wondered how appropriate a green baby blanket would be for a little girl.  Some people might think that green was a boy color.  However, I knew my friend pretty well and went with it.  Here's the finished product:

Hard to see those cute frogs, but they are cute.

In an attempt to make something more girly, I made these burp cloths with pink and yellow fabrics.  I have made a thousand of these, or so it seems, and I think there are many of my blog readers that have been the (I hope) happy recipients of these burp cloths.

About a week after I had finished the quilt I got her invitation in the mail with registry information.  Can you imagine my surprise and glee when I saw that everything she had registered for was green.  Awesome!

  1. That's perfect! Green was very sensible too because then she can use most of her stuff later if she has boys.

Cute quilt and I love the burp cloths! They are the cutest I have and they hold up the best compared to all the others.
