Obsession

What's a good housewife without an obsession?   In my case, it's Bryan Adams (among other things).  It all began in 7th grade when a girl named Sarah made me a mixed tape of her favorite Bryan Adams songs.  A bond was formed with Sarah (that lasted through my entire middle school years!) and, of course, with Bryan Adams (that will last throughout my earthly life).  Through years of changing my favorite music, Bryan has always been high on my list of obsessions.  Now, don't think I'm a groupie or do crazy things because of this.  Just because I've already gone to one of his concerts before doesn't mean I don't need to go to another one 8 years later.  I mean really.

It was about three weeks ago when I was inspired to take a look at his tour schedule for the year and lo and behold, but he was coming here, to my very own Tucson.  I just knew I had to be there so I checked and double checked and made sure I could go.  I tried to find someone else to go with me, but, as with all obsessions, it is rarely shared by loved ones (who generally look at you like you're crazy when you begin to ramble about your chosen profession...ahem, I mean obsession).  Additionally, as with all obsessions, when you find out yours is coming to town it is a real feat to be able to wait even four short hours to buy your ticket.  And so I purchased my ticket.

The concert was amazing.  Bryan Adams at his best.  The only problem was the crowd.  They insisted on sitting for the concert-annoying much!  I could barely stop myself from jumping up and dancing to every single song.  When Summer of '69 came on, I couldn't stop myself and luckily the woman next to me also loved the song so we could be annoying together.  In the end, everyone stood up for that one anyway, which is as it should be.  And after we all sat down I noticed that my hand was hurting.  To my own dismay, I had bruised my hand by clapping-if that's not obsession I don't know what is.  Best money spent this year so far, I tell ya!
