You may or may not know that I am a closet haiku poet. This has been going since I did that poetry unit way back in elementary school. Every now and then I'll get an itching to write a haiku or two or three or four. There really is no limit to the wonder of the haiku. For me, I like to write haikus about nature and seasons and I love to follow the 5-7-5 syllable pattern, which actually isn't requisite for a haiku. Anyway, I recently found these two haikus and decided to share them with you, my loyal blog readers, in an attempt to chronicle them for history (and to be able to throw away the scraps of scratch paper I write them on). Enjoy!
Sun covered in cloud
breaks through streaming, golden rays
anticipation
Quiet, shivering,
peering, sneaking, wondering;
chasing fireworks
Well done, you poetess you! :-}
ReplyDeleteAnticipation is how I would describe rain. I wouldn't have put fireworks like that! Beautiful.
