A Small Ornament

You probably look at the word ornament and think only about Christmas right?  Well, I make ornaments year round and while they are always appropriate for a Christmas tree, they may just be appropriate for other things too.  Saturday evening I was just looking for something crafty to do so I got out my idea bag (this is inside my head) and came up with this cute little hand sewn ornament.

Last month as I was cleaning out some of the stuff in my house I found my stencils that I purchased fifteen years ago and haven't seen or used in ages (about fifteen years).  Luckily, I had one of different size hearts.

I started out with three different sizes and colors of felt. 

Then I started sewing.  I think this is my year for the buttonhole stitch.  It seems like I have been doing a buttonhole stitch every day for the past month.  Don't be surprised if you get something handmade with this lovely stitch from me this year. 

Here is the finished product.  Since I don't have a Christmas tree up right now, it is a kitchen ornament.  In about nine months it will be a Valentine's day ornament.  I just think it's cute.  This little ornament took me about an hour to make from start to finish.
