Breckenridge Colorado

You may have been wondering what I've been doing.  I'll tell you...I have been impatiently waiting for my camera to arrive from the camera hospital.  The UPS tracking says my package is in my town; why isn't at my door (WAIL)????  So what I did today: two loads of laundry, made one batch of cornbread, one loaf of carrot bread, sewed a totally awesome memory game which I will post about when my camera is returned to me in good health, made some other good food and finished my book.  Sheesh...it's been a busy day!  Of course, there's no proof since I don't have my camera.

But here's the real post about Breckenridge, which we visited after Moab.  It was beautiful there with the trees and the mountains and the snow and the cooler weather.  Here are some photos.

Vail Pass Summit.  There is a rest stop here and it has great views.  There's a bike path that goes through here too so there are a ton of cyclists...it made me jealous.

Downtown Breckenridge.  It had all sorts of cute shops and some abandoned buildings as well which I think add to the atmosphere.

Near the cabin where we stayed.

A gorgeous sunset except for that stupid dust mote that is totally destroying my picture, thus my camera is in the hospital.

We went on a short hike one day and this is the dirt road that we drove to get to the trail head.  I am not used to seeing snow in June.

The next few are on the hike.  There was a river running around us too.  We almost cleared the tree line before we turned back.

The river.

The scenery on the hike.  I would love to do more hiking around here despite the difficulty in breathing at that altitude.

This was a private lake of an unknown name meant only for those who lived on it.  It was between Breckenridge and our cabin.

These next few pictures are of a series of clouds...a storm rolling in.  They are all the same clouds.  I took about 15 pictures of these clouds and they are all different but I chose the best ones to share.  You might say I am obsessed with clouds; they are so PRETTY!

We only spent two and a half days in Breckenridge but it was totally worth the trip.  I can't wait to go back someday.
