Park Avenue Trail

While in Arches NP I went on the Park Avenue trail, a one mile trail that leads you down into a dry wash with great monoliths rising above you.  Here are some pretty pictures.

This is Park Avenue.  They got their name because they reminded early hikers of skyscrapers.

Here is what looks like a very precariously balanced rock.

It was amazing how big these formations were.  They loomed above you, overpowering any other thing, and made you feel small and inconsequential in the scheme of things.  It was pretty amazing.

This is what the canyon looked like when I looked back to see the trail I had covered.  By this time I was almost finished.

End of the road for us in Arches.
