This blog will include descriptions of all the really cool stuff I think I do. Maybe you'll think some of it is cool too.

Above World
I recently finished reading Above World by Jenn Reese. I picked it up because the cover was pretty and it sounded like it was a mermaid type fantasy, but it isn't exactly like that. It is about a world (earth) where people have adapted using technology to different habitats, for example, Aluna lives under the sea with her community; everyone using a breathing apparatus to stay underwater which allows communication as well. They take a genetic resequencer to grow a tail when they reach age 13. In any case, this book is about Aluna's adventures in the above world and the story contains themes of loyalty, endurance and adventure. Aluna and her friends also learn the beauty of creating surprising and unexpected relationships. There's no foul language here but there is some violence and descriptions of how humans add technology to themselves (think Edward Scissorhands) which I found a little gross. Enjoy.
