This blog will include descriptions of all the really cool stuff I think I do. Maybe you'll think some of it is cool too.

Never Cry Wolf
I had the good fortune of receiving a recommendation from a friend, Melissa Clark, to read Never Cry Wolf by Farley Mowat, published 1963. Melissa is only reading non-fiction this year and I find that incredibly boring. However, she may sway me to the dark side if she keeps giving me such good recommendations. Farley Mowat is a Canadian biologist and conservationist. As part of his job back in the 1950s, he was sent into the tundra of Canada to assess the wolf population and their seemingly negative impact on the natural resources of Canada. Read this book and follow Mowat's discovery of the wondrous world of the arctic wolf and decide for yourself as to the positive or negative impact of the wolf. His style is humorous but also gives the facts, whether wonderful or dismal. His journey of discovery became my journey of discovery as we met and followed a family of wolves over the course of one spring, summer, and fall. This book was clean and was a fun read. There's also a movie based on the book which I watched and it was lame. The book is much better and the movie was rife with naked butts. No thanks.
