This blog will include descriptions of all the really cool stuff I think I do. Maybe you'll think some of it is cool too.

Brownies
Who doesn't know the benefit of a good homemade brownie: sweet, moist, chewy, chocolate everywhere. They are always more chocolatey than a chocolate cake. You can't just have one, right? Every "stereotypical" housewife has a fabulous recipe for homemade brownies that requires lots of time, energy and produces delicious results that are talked about at every family gathering. Here's my recipe, from my sister-in-law, just in case you don't believe me:
However, I have a confession to make though, being a stereotypically honest person and all. Here's the recipe I used this time and guess what? I don't feel bad about it at all. Stereotypical housewives usually have a stereotypical family, and do they really care where it came from. As they say, "it's all the same to the stomach." While I, being a good healthy housewife, care a lot about what I eat, I have a long way to go to help my husband see my side of things. So since he doesn't care, he can have a brownie if he wants. I'm not touching these poisonous sugar bombs filled with partially-hydrogenated oils and other enduring fats. And anyway, they are going to be given away to other stereotypical people who could care less where they came from. Enjoy!

You stole my quote! I still make brownies that way if I have to make them at all. Why go to all that work-let Duncan do it for you! :-}
ReplyDeleteThis is me and muffins. We had tons of guests over this weekend for my nephew's birthday party, it was very wisely decided to have a continental style of breakfast rather than cook breakfast for everyone. My brother's girlfriend asked me to make blueberry muffins for this. Because I am a domestic goddess, I think she was surprised when I told her to add Krusteaz muffin mix to her shopping list. I've perfected banana muffins (which I actually use a banana cake recipe for) but the rest of the time I use the magic Krusteaz recipe, they always yield pleasing results! If you are trying for the perfect pancake I also recommend Krusteaz!
ReplyDeleteI will admit though that I am a cookie snob. The only thing store bought cookie dough is good for is eating as dough. I'll make my cookies from scratch thank you very much!
The above comment by Abraham is mine. Being logged into two Google accounts at the same time on the same computer obviously caused some problems. My husband doesn't bake, he just eats. :)
