Thought of the Sunday 16

I was reminded this week that everything that is good comes from God.  This may seem obvious to everyone out there, but I think it is difficult to remember when you are in the thick of things.  Religiously all good feelings and promptings come from God but these seem easier to identify in some ways.  I know when I feel good at church that it comes from God.  I know when I'm praying or reading the scriptures or keeping any of the commandments that my good feelings come from God.

But is it as easy for us to remember when we are having a good time with friends, laughing and enjoying life, that those feelings come from God?  Is it easy to remember that when you drive safely without accident every single day for years and years that it is because of the goodness of God?  What about when you are sitting in your math (insert your subject here) class and you finally understand what you have been working so hard to understand?  That moment of clarity comes from God too. 

Here are some verses from Moroni 7:

Verse 12: Wherefore, all things which are good cometh of God...
Verse 13: But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God.

As I was thinking about this and having daily experiences this week I thought of all the really good people that influence my life; not just members of the church I belong too but everyone.  There is so much good in the world that I know it can and will overpower the bad.  We can be part of that as we love God, serve Him and obey Him.  When I think of the goodness of God in my life it makes me more grateful for everything that He has given me.  Here is a short random list of the good things of God in my life:

• my husband and family
• my creativity
• my friends
• my hobbies
• enough money to enjoy my hobbies
• my home
• groceries just a block away
• driving safely everyday
• riding safely
• books, books, books
• learning new things
• guidance from the scriptures
