A Quick New Skirt

I had plans all week to sew on Saturday, but I wasn't sure if I would be sewing something to wear to church or if I would be sewing Christmas presents.  It turned out that I got to do both.  I went digging for some fabric (and when I say digging I mean I had to open a few boxes that I packed over a year ago) and found these lovely summery flowers--perfect for November!  Here is the pattern.  I bought it this year so it is relatively new.  I made the top left skirt and added about 6 inches to it.

Unfortunately, my only mistake in this skirt was how I cut it out; I totally ignored that it was a stripe!  To me, the stripe is kind of crooked but I will still enjoy wearing this skirt.  It took me about two hours total to cut out and make.  I have a fabulous fabric that matches that I will make a blouse out of when I get the time and energy (next week?).

The only other interesting thing about this skirt is that the hem is not straight (this is part of the design).  Next time, I will be more aware of my stripe.

  1. Sunny, happy fabric. From the side, I don't notice the angle of the stripe. I recommend you move sideways the whole time you're wearing it (ha, ha). :-} mom

  2. I think it's cute and don't think people will sit there and point it out to you!
