Oven Fried Garlic Parmesan Green Beans

I was looking around at some favorite websites and found this fabulous looking recipe for oven fried garlic parmesan green beans.  I decided I had to make them that very day!  I had all the ingredients except the green beans so I stopped at my local grocery store on the way home from work...easy peasy.

I have a hard time with all the adds and stuff on her website so I'll recreate the recipe for you here...it is not my recipe: it comes from sugarfreemom (see link above).

Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • 12 ounces fresh green beans (I used a pound)
  • ⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese (I used more)
Here is a picture of most of my ingredients.

First you whisk the oil, egg, garlic salt and minced garlic together.  Toss in the green beans and coat well with the egg mixture.  Sprinkle the parmesan cheese in and toss gently.  Place evenly on a greased baking sheet.  Don't do what I did.  I used foil.  That resulted in all the cheesy goodness getting stuck to the foil.  I ended up picking parts of it off of the foil because it was so good.

Bake at 425 for 12-15 minutes or until it looks crispy and golden.  You can heat it under the broiler for a minute or two but I didn't have to do that.  These were so delicious that even my husband had seconds.  The two of us ate this whole pan in one sitting.  So good!
