There is a story that goes with this baby. I bought this pattern about 8 years ago because I thought it would be so cute. I weighed about 75 pounds more than I did when I got pregnant this year. So about 7 years ago I made the blouse out of this nice linen fabric. I wore it to work and all my co-workers said how cute it was but almost all of them said, "that's a cute blouse, but you look pregnant in it." Well, there was no way I could have been pregnant at that point so I hung it up and saved it, hoping I would get married and pregnant sooner rather than later. A few years later, I got married and continued to keep this blouse in the back of my closet because surely, I would get pregnant soon. We moved within the city a few times and each time I saved that blouse. Then, about a year ago, after I lost 75 pounds and was finally purging my closet I got rid of this lovely blouse that I had saved for years and years for when I got pregnant. Good story, right?
Now that I am pregnant I wish I had that blouse back! I ended up making the same exact size even! However, it is a little big (or huge?) but I think I will grow into it in no time. The neckline is super low which goes to show that you lose weight in all sorts of places since it wasn't too low the last time I made it. Here is the blouse. It has delicate flowers on it.
My remedy for the low neckline (since I don't like to have to adjust my clothes all the time) is to just wear a white undershirt with it.
And here is the side view so you can see how big it looks. It doesn't look terrible because everyone knows I'm pregnant but I still think I will wait a week or two before wearing it.
That is a really cute blouse! Those blouses are so expensive to buy at the stores, maybe you could make and sell those on base!
ReplyDeleteThat's going to look really nice when you start to show even more. Very cute with those pants too :)
