With my newly gained weight (seven whole pounds at this point) I am in desperate need of things to wear. For the past week I have been wearing pajama pants everywhere with the occasional skirt if I have to look presentable. Well, I got tired of having nothing to wear so I just opened a box of fabric and grabbed the closest thing to the top that was big enough. It turned out to be a lovely purple Hawaiian type print that I have had so long I can't remember where or when I got it. I only have one pattern for capris and I have made it before and didn't love it. I thought I might love it more now so I decided to try it out again. Here is the finished project.
One of the reasons I don't love these capris is because the legs are so huge, as in they are not very close to my body and seem a little baggy to me, but I guess they are cute, and they are certainly better than wearing pajama pants I've had for ten years.
To try to fix the baggy legs, I added a casing and ties to the cuffs. I'm not sure whether I like it better or not but I am going to leave these as is (except I did cut off the extra long ties that you see in the picture). If I make any more, I might do something different. In any case I have something new and have some room to grow in them too. I'm hoping they will last me a month; maybe even two if I'm lucky!
I like the edited version with the new cuff. Very fun!
