Baking Cookies

So here are two things that a housewife should be good at...(1) baking cookies! and (2) finding new recipes and books at your local library.  I found this great book at the library and it has tons of recipes I would like to try.  You might notice all the tabs sticking out of the top of the book.

So today I decided to try out one of the recipes: Oatmeal cookies.  Now I have never been able to find a good recipe for oatmeal cookies.  Usually the homemade cookies are too crunchy for me and I just enjoy the store-bought king.  No longer!  These cookies are soooo good.  It's probably because they are basically just butter and sugar with some oatmeal.  How could you go wrong?

And as every good housewife knows, you always use a Bosch when making anything!  There's the dough...isn't it great.  Knowing what I know about people, I knew I should make some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and some oatmeal raisin cookies.  I wanted them to all be oatmeal raisin cookies because, well, yum!  But I reluctantly divided the dough into two and made both kinds.  It worked pretty well though I wish I had walnuts to add to my raisin cookies.  The oatmeal raisin cookies and much tastier than the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, just so you know.

  1. Blasphemy! Oatmeal raisin should never be made cuz you don't want to ruin a perfectly good cookie with raisins. Bleh.

  2. That's why I made the chocolate chippers for people like you! Too bad they'll be gone by the time you get here...I'll probably have something more exciting then.

  3. That was three things. All good mormon housewives bake cookies, casseroles and funeral potatoes to bless the lives of others. This blog is just a tad "tongue in cheek."
