Sewing

Every housewife needs the appropriate attire to wear to their husband's work party.  In my case, it was deemed holiday casual.  Not knowing what that meant (except no jeans), I decided to make my Christmas skirt that I bought fabric for last Christmas.  So here is a mediocre picture of what I have been so furiously sewing together.  So furiously because I had four days and it is plaid, and every good seamstress knows how hard it can be to match plaid.  You look at it and say, "That looks fine."  Well, if I had not matched the stripes you would look at it and say, "What is wrong with that skirt?"

It is a very straight skirt.  It is navy blue with red and green plaid and gold running down each stripe.  It looks very Christmasy with a red blouse and sparkles in good lighting (that's the gold).

  1. Your skirt turned our great Kat! (so good that I thought you had bought it from the store and tossed the idea of making one) I loved it!

  3. Thanks! I love it when people think I buy my clothes at the store...so Tanya-did I make my blouse or was it store bought? You could totally make one. Plaid might not be the easiest thing to start with though.

  4. Skirt looked great, I never would have thought it was hand-made. I understand the frustrations of plaids and stripes.
