This blog will include descriptions of all the really cool stuff I think I do. Maybe you'll think some of it is cool too.

Before We Go
I wasn't so sure about reading this Canadian book (sometimes they are a little weird) but this was a Winner with a capital "W" (only a select few would understand this obscure reference). Before We Go follows three teenagers, a brother and sister and a girl (Emily) they meet, on New Year's Eve as they hunt for things to do to fill their time. Unbeknownst to Emily, there is a secret that the other two are holding back. Follow these three as they meet, become friends, and make connections during this one evening. This book contains themes of death, life, family, and fortitude. There is nearly no sex and some language. This book was also a total surprise to me and I enjoyed it because it made me think about what's important in life.

Hmmm. Interesting. I love that you introduce me to books that I wouldn't have found otherwise.
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading it and you wrote a great teaser for the book. The end surprised me (it felt a little abrupt) but the subject matter was handled well and there were none of those "things" that irritate me (you know what they are.) I enjoyed the growing closeness of the 3 as well as the descriptions of Vancouver Island. Well done! :-}
