I just keep sewing and sewing. I recently looked at my patterns and found that most of them are now too big to use. I can't possibly fit a size 18 pattern to myself now. This makes me a little sad because I really liked some of those patterns. So I went in search for any of my patterns that included a size 14 because that is a lot closer. In sewing pattern sizes I am right between a 12 and 14 which is, of course, the cut off for pattern groupings. You can get them from 6-12 or 14-18 but you can hardly ever get a pattern that includes a 12
and a 14. Sheesh...the frustrations of life. So I found this pattern and decided to make letter C, the short sleeved one. I was a little concerned about the fit so I made a prototype with fabric I already had. I needed to raise the neckline considerably (2 1/2 inches!) and wasn't sure how it would go.
Here it is. I think it is pretty cute (don't worry it's cuter in real life; for some reason, my photographer can't capture it) but now that I know how it fits and looks I would use a more flowy fabric than cotton. Though I don't know how excited I'll be to make it again. Everything was super easy except that V where the bodice meets the bottom part of the front of the blouse. That was a beast and you can't even see it to appreciate it!
Kat you look great!!!! Way to go!
