My First Pillowcase Ever

I have recently been playing a game of Bingo with my local quilt store.  One of the tasks was to make a pillowcase for Heads at Ease.  The quilt store provided the pattern and I had to provide the fabric.  I actually just found some stuff lying around so it didn't cost me anything.  Here are the fabrics I chose:

The pattern included some very confusing directions so I had to consult the Internet and also call the quilt store to confirm the procedure.  I had to roll up the fabric and sew some stuff together.

Then you had to pull the body of the pillow out of the tube you just created.

The pillow pattern included something called French seams, where you trap the ends inside a seam.  I had never done it before but it turned out very easy and I was happy with the results.  Now I am dreaming of making pillowcases for everyone!  The only problem is that it is so expensive if you don't have the fabric lying around.  $15.00 for a pillowcase seems ridiculous.  Oh well.

  1. That is quite true on the price, but it might be a great wedding or going away to college present.

  2. I love the fabric you chose! You'll have to show me how you did it. I just make them with the serger-good enough for me! :-} mom
