Matching Towels

Way back in November I bought some toweling at the quilt store.  And then, way back in December I lost my toweling.  I bought the toweling so I could make decorative towels for my kitchen.  You may recall these rooster quilts that I made last spring.  I had some fabric leftover and thought about using my toweling with these scraps.  Well, I just found my toweling about a week ago and got very excited.  Finally, I could make my decorative towels.

First I had to hem my towels.  That didn't take much effort.  They are not actually the size of regular towels since I only got a yard and cut them in half.  That's okay because they are decorative.  Anyway.  I set out to "design" my design and this is what I came up with.  This is before sewing.

Here is my towel after completion and hanging on my stove door.

And here it is folded into thirds.  Of course you can't see the roosters but the star is still cute.  I am going to make one more and I will put a rooster in the middle so I can fold it in thirds and see a rooster.  Then I think I have just enough fabric to make a hot pad or two to match.
