Beef Tips With a New Rub

Every so often I buy beef tips.  My husband does not love beef or steak, but he'll eat it when I make it (which I appreciate).  As they were defrosting in the microwave I decided to look up a spicy rub that might make these tips delicious for us both.  Usually I make my own rub by just tossing seasoning together...it's very scientific.  Luckily after changing my search terms only once I found a fabulous recipe I could try.  The only thing I left out was the ground celery seed since I didn't have any.  I only made half the recipe (and it was plenty for my 1 1/2 pounds of meat) but my husband likes his food spicy and I don't mind spicy so I put in the full amount of chipotle powder.

This was so delicious and spicy and hot and flavorful.  You know those times when you put something in your mouth and it is so delicious you have to groan in pleasure?  Yes, this was one of those times.  I actually do this all the time...the surprising thing was that my husband did too!  He never gets into his food that much.  He usually says, "it's good" or "it's fine," both meaning the same thing: it's food and I have to eat it to sustain myself.  So when he got a little bit excited about dinner and it being beef tips, I knew this recipe was a keeper.
