This week I started baking up a storm to get rid of all my baking supplies before we move. Yesterday I wanted to get rid of all the chocolate. I had some baking cocoa, mini chips, some regular semi-sweet and a little bit of a baking bar that I wanted to use up. I also had some brown sugar. What I knew before I started was that I didn't want to make chocolate chip cookies. I already have a few dozen of them in the freezer. So I decided to look up a recipe for chocolate oatmeal cookies and I found the perfect one: Double Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies. It was, in fact, the first recipe that came up on google and the only one I looked at.
Most exciting, I already had some unsalted butter and dark brown sugar that I needed to use up. And I got to use up all my open chocolate sources yesterday on these delicious cookies. Here's the dough.
Here's the cookies after baking. They look very similar to those no bake chocolate peanut butter cookies people make.
These cookies smelled so delicious...better than chocolate chip cookies baking! I think if I ever started eating cookies again these might just be the first I try. I really wanted to know whether they would be crispy/crunchy or chewy. My husband, the great taste tester, said they were both.
Wow. This is a lot of goodness on one page. I'm hungry! :) What a gold mine of good recipes.
