Happy Valentine's Day!

I got all into Valentine's day this year.  It started with my adorable quilt that I made back in January.  Then I made another quilt.  Then I found my treat bags that I had purchased a few years ago.  I saw those and thought, 'I'm going to make cookies and give them out as Valentine's this year (ulterior motive: to get rid of the bags).'  So that's what I did.  First I made a list of people to give them to.  Then I made cookies.  Last Saturday I made a full batch of Spritz cookies (the old family favorite) and decorated them with red sprinkles.

Here they are before baking:

After baking (they look pretty much the same and that's how it should be)

And here is the big pile of cookies that I made.  I made at least 8 dozen cookies.  They are small but they are delicious (not that I would know now, but I remember).

And here are the bags I made with them.  Six for each person unless they had more in the family, then two cookies per person.  That made about 12 bags which I gave away earlier this week.  I used Disney princess Valentines this year.  I also took some to choir practice to share and gave some to my husband to take to work.

Unfortunately, this wasn't enough cookies for everyone (if you can imagine).  So on Tuesday, I made more cookies: this time traditional sugar cookies.  I made only hearts and decorated them with deliciously smelling frosting.  Yum!  I gave half to my workplace and half to my Sign Language class.  They all enjoyed them.  I love bringing happiness to my friends :)  Happy Valentine's Day!
