Pizza Crust and Sauce

Hello my blog readers.  By popular demand I will post the homemade recipes I used for the strombolis.

Pizza Crust:  This recipe is so easy you will love it.  The recipe is enough for two pizzas.  If you look at my stromboli post you would know that I used half this recipe to make our two strombolis.

1 package yeast (or 1 tbsp)...I used the full package even for half a batch
1.5 cups warm water
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp salt
3.5 to 5 cups whole wheat flour

Mix the ingredients in the order listed.  Let rise for a few hours.  Use at your discretion.  When making pizza, bake the crust at 425 for 10 minutes then add toppings and bake for 10 additional minutes.

Pizza Sauce:  I don't know where this came from except I remember my dad making it when I was growing up.  We didn't use it that often but I may use it more often because it was so delicious.  This recipe makes enough sauce for two pizzas, or for two strombolis and leftover dipping sauce.

1 8 oz can tomato sauce
1 6 oz can tomato paste
1/8 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp dehydrated onion
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp each of thyme, basil, oregano
1/4 tsp salt

Mix all ingredients together.

There you have it.  Enjoy!
