Thought of the Sunday 45

One of my favorite events happened this week: the Messiah Sing-in.  It is always the first Monday in December and I have been 6 or 7 times.  There is an orchestra and soloists and the congregation sings all the choral pieces.  It is a fabulous way for me to start off the Christmas season and this week has been filled with wonderful Christmas feelings, all starting with the Messiah on Monday.  I am very into Christmas this year.  I hope it lasts through the next two and a half weeks.  So I wanted to share some of my favorite scriptures from the Messiah.

Isaiah 40:5
"And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it."

Isaiah 9:6
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace."

Luke 2:8-11
"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.  And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.  And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord."

Isaiah 40:11
"He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young."

Matthew 11:30
"For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

All of these scriptures help remind me just how much my Savior loves me and what a great gift we were all given when He was born on this earth for our salvation.  He will take care of us and we can go to Him in our anguish and triumphs.  He knows how we feel and we can trust that He is interested in our joy and success.  I love my Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.  Where would I be without them in my life?  I don't ever even want to think about it.  I hope as you celebrate this Christmas you can remember how much the Savior loves you and how much his birth means to the entire world.
