Willow

I just finished reading Willow by Tonya Cherie Hegamin and it was fairly engaging.  It is about a slave girl in 1848 and her life.  I have never been a slave and have no idea what that might feel like, but reading this book has let me glimpse a small part of what that life must have been like.  Of course, people are the same in all ages--good, bad, nice, demanding, controlling, charitable--it doesn't matter who or when you are.  Follow Willow's story as she struggles with the confinement of slavery and also her own desire to dream and accomplish things.  In this book are themes of loyalty, love, and sacrifice.

There is no language or real violence besides references to slavery, which are only surface references.
