Winter Quilt

Well I can finally blog all the Christmas presents that I made this year.  What a relief!  I started this winter quilt last Christmas, like on Christmas day, and saved it all year so I could give it to my mom.  I bought the pattern in Pennsylvania the last time I was there.  The original pattern has red where the blue is and is intended to be a Christmas quilt, but I knew my mom would appreciate a winter quilt more so I used blue snowflakes.  I intend to make this quilt for myself sometime in my lifetime.

Here I made four different trees.

Then I added the trunks.  I had to buy some brown fabric because I don't have much in my brown bin.  Also, you can see the picture of the original pattern in the left hand corner with the red instead of blue.

Here is the assembled quilt.  I was very pleased with how it turned out and my mom said she really liked it.  Yay!  I love happy gift receivers.

Here is a close up.  I also added silver snowflake buttons to the quilt but somehow I didn't get a picture of them.  Rest assured that they were cute and added to the ambiance of the quilt.
