I made a fun skirt!

Here is a picture of the skirt I made this week.  It actually only took one day so I should say I made it on Monday.  I wanted something fun and I found this fabric in a pile that my sister-in-law had given me for free.  It always makes me happy to create something when the materials are free...it's like getting something for nothing.

The same day I made this I went shopping and there was a great sale going on and I actually found a shirt that went perfectly with this skirt.  Awesome!  And it was only $5.00 - even better!  It is green and will look better than the blue t-shirt I am wearing in the photo.

If you can't tell, they are like peacock feathers but with hearts as the eyes and is a cacophony of color.  It has a drawstring waist and I made the drawstring out of the fabric which is super easy and super cheap and it blends right in.  I probably won't tuck in my shirt when I wear this to church though.  That was just so you could see the waistline.  Yay for sewing!  So far this year I have made a new outfit for every Sunday.  I probably can't keep it up but it's been fun.
