I have recently lost a little weight and almost none of my clothes fit me. However, I was steeply embroiled in getting ready for the craft fair and didn't have time to make some new clothes for myself. The craft fair ended at 2pm on a Saturday. By 7pm that night, I had made this new jumper to wear to church the next day.
I saw the fabric for $3.00 a yard and thought it would be the perfect wintry jumper. However, the fabric was in two different pieces: one 2 yard piece and one 3/4 yard piece. When I laid it all out I could see it wasn't going to work out. I nearly swept everything off the table in frustration. I just had to make that jumper (obsession anyone?)! There was enough fabric for the front but the back had to be at least seven inches longer. That's a pretty long amount!
I did figure something out and if you look very closely you can see where I added the length. But if you look at it from far away, you would never know there are extra seams there.
Here is the finished product complete with a yellow flower in the hair. Nobody said anything about it so I can only assume that everybody at church loved it.
Good match! I'm glad you send a photo-I couldn't imagine what the fabric was like from your description. Looking good, baby girl! :-}
