Ever since the day after Christmas I have been on a sewing frenzy. Walk into the sewing room and you might see thread and fabric flying, scissors being tossed to and fro, and a seemingly frantic looking woman (me) rushing between the cutting counter, the machines and the ironing board. Good thing I am not actually frantic...it just might look that way to casual passers-by.
Here is a skirt that I started last night and finished this morning. It is one of the easiest skirts to make in the history of the world. It is the skirt pattern that I used for nearly all of my mission skirts. I think I have made at least 10 of these and my mom has made some too. We really got our $1.00 worth out of this pattern.
I wasn't too sure that the vertical stripe would work out, but the fabric was in my colors and it was $3.00/yard = just my price. I think it turned out pretty cute. The top yoke with the diagonal stripe won't be seen much since I'll have a top on to cover it.
Here is a close up of the fabric. I think it is so cute and delicate. It reminds me of little girl sheets. I saved my leftovers thinking I could make a doll quilt or pillowcase or something like that.
Kat your skirts both came out so great!! Loved seeing the fabric and then the finished product. So fun to catch up on your blog! xoxo Sarah
